Celebrate Canadian Library Month! (with a chance to win an iPad)

Home / Blog / Celebrate Canadian Library Month! (with a chance to win an iPad)

To mark Canadian Library Month, which is happening right now, we are pleased to invite you to participate in a special event!  It’s easy to join.  All you need to do is post a selfie on Instagram or Facebook with one of your favourite books.

Let us know why you love this book, and tag @local4948 or add #OurPublicLibrary to your post and you will be automatically entered in a draw to win some fabulous prizes including:

  • 1st Prize: A new iPad
  • 2nd Prize: $100 Gift Card to Indigo/Chapters
  • 3rd – 5th Prizes: Library Worker Swag

Libraries and Library Workers from across the country are celebrating and raising awareness about the valuable role Our Public Libraries play in our communities.

We don’t need to tell you how much Torontonians love Our Public Library. But a new study by Social Planning Toronto has found city residents also need it, especially as we endure the pandemic.  According to the study, more than half (52%) or respondents say they urgently need access to Libraries and Library Services.

Rest assured, Library Workers will be there to deliver safe and professional services. If you can’t make it into a branch, Our Public Library offers a wide range of services online and over the phone.

Stay safe and we are looking forward to seeing what’s on your bookshelf!

*Contest ends October 31st and the draw will take place Monday, November 2nd.

To win one of these fabulous prizes entrants whose posts are randomly selected must agree to have their story shared with OurPublicLibrary.to supporters.  If your post is drawn, we will contact you directly.

Today is #EqualPayDay. Women still earn 32% less than men. The gap is even larger for Black women, Indigenous women, Arab women and women w disabilities.

We need strong public investment in community services to narrow the gap & increase women's economic liberation.
